Chimeg Junai is responsible for institutional development and resource mobilization at KTT, where she coordinates the capacity development of the NGO and its main partner, Durvuljin soum, Zavkhan aimag, as well as for resource mobilization for sustainable financing of the Takhi reintroduction program.

She is a dedicated environmentalist, having been engaged more than 20 years in the environmental sector, dealing with environmental and development issues in regard to biodiversity conservation, protected area management, climate change adaptation, local sustainable development, rural water sanitation, as well as advocacy and environmental education and awareness raising, in various positions. Before joining KTT, Chimeg spent five years serving for the UNDP Mongolia Country Office, 10 years with WWF Mongolia and others. As a trained chemist, she gathered experiences in Mongolian Academy of sciences, Mongolian Medical University, Joint institute for nuclear research, Russia, as teacher and researcher.

Chimeg earned a master’s degree in applied chemistry from the Martin Luther University of Halle/Saale, Germany and completed business management course at the National Academy of Governance. She speaks German, English and Russian.
