The Government of Mongolia, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism signed agreement with the Khomyn Talyn Takhi NGO

On 25th November 2023, during the Second Forum of Environmental rangers, Mr. Bat-Erdene B, Minister of Environment and Tourism and Mr. Boldgiv B, Board Chairman of the “Khomyn Talyn Takhi” NGO have signed a Management Agreement on executing protected area’s management of Khomyn Tal National Park.

The aim of the agreement is to effectively implement the conservation management of Khomyn Tal National Park, especially the reintroduction of globally endangered wild horses, the creation of an independent, stable natural population, develop community co-managing natural resource management and promote ecotourism, through NGO partnership development.

In 2020, as result of successful reintroduction of Przewalski’s horses since 2004 and valuable contribution to the conservation of natural resources, including the population increases of other rare wildlife species, the Khomyn Tal was declared as a State Protected Area under National Park category. The Khomyn Tal National Park is located in Durvuljin soum, Zavkhan province and covers 411,403.08 hectares.
